The Senior Network Engineer will possess a comprehensive understanding of voice and unified communications technologies, demonstrating expertise in relevant protocols and applications.

Proficiency in PSTN/ISDN circuits and infrastructure, alongside their VoIP/RTP/SIP equivalents, is essential, as well as an understanding of their convergence. As a senior member of the telecommunications and contact center team, the Senior Network Engineer (voice systems integration engineer) is expected to maintain a high level of productivity in a project-driven and support-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate will engage in global initiatives involving cloud-based solutions while prioritizing customer service and timely project completion. Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python will be utilized to efficiently achieve objectives related to user management, configuration, and migration. Collaboration with Architects, Analysts, Voice and Network Engineers, and Project Managers will be essential.

This role may require working outside of standard business hours as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop procedures for routine administration, monitoring, and maintenance of conferencing and telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Lead root cause analysis processes to resolve issues and implement solutions that prevent recurrence, focusing on MS Audio Conferencing.
  • Act as a technical resource to support technological initiatives.
  • Analyze and gather requirements for system configuration changes.
  • Prepare change management documentation.
  • Create and consolidate error reports regarding system utilization.
  • Analyze performance of conferencing and voice systems, identifying opportunities for optimization.
  • Track product updates, features, and functionalities as they become available from vendors.
  • Prepare and deploy scripts necessary for managing and supporting conferencing and voice systems.
  • Design, deploy, and support IP Telephony initiatives.
  • Support network activities aimed at VoIP optimization.
  • Identify, report, and track issues with internal and external teams until resolution in a timely manner.
  • Explore opportunities for cross-platform integration to enhance system benefits.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for sharing with team members.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with Genesys Cloud, Microsoft Teams, Audiocodes SBC, Azure, AWS, and Carrier SIP over the internet.
  • Technical understanding of VoIP over SIP across LAN, WAN, and internet technologies, including software tools for performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Administrative knowledge of Windows servers and client operating systems.
  • Proven experience with scripting and markup languages such as PowerShell, Python, and batch/command line interaction.
  • Administrative background managing various operating system components such as tracing, logging, registry, and network connectivity.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office 365 environment.
  • 3-5 years of experience in IP Telephony implementation and operations.
  • Hands-on experience in TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting related to VoIP signaling and media.
  • Ability to communicate technical and operational concepts to both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Familiarity with contact center features and functions.
  • Functional understanding of voice gateways, routers, switches, databases, CaaS, SaaS, encryption, and virtualization.
