We are looking for a Client & Market Development Manager to join our Client & Market Development team in Amsterdam with a future European focus.
Summary
We have an ambitious global strategy which puts clients at the very heart of everything the Firm does. Our Client & Market Development("CMD") teams are pivotal in making the Firm strategy a reality.
This position will contribute to the development of the business strategy of Clifford Chance in Amsterdam, but in future will have an increasingly cross-border remit to support our cross-border objectives within Continental Europe. The scope of the role is expected to become more international soon aligned with expected developments around our Client and Market Developmentorganisation in Europe.
The Role
In this role you will collaborate closely with lawyers and other CMD team members across the network to ensure the Firm capitalises on key trends and opportunities across our client base.
The key responsibilities of the position are:
Supporting the Amsterdam Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Tax, Pensions and Employment and Projects Finance practice areas and advising the Practice Area leadership teams on the implementation of their commercial strategy. Supporting Amsterdam partners in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Tax, Pensions and Employment, and Projects Finance practices on identifying opportunities to serve the needs of existing and new clients and developing and implementing plans to leverage that growth potential. Furthermore, supporting the European (fin)tech hub. Supporting lawyers in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, including leading on the production of bid documents (pitches, responses to RFPs and capability statements), frequently collaborating with the pricing and graphics teams and the global proposals team Collaborating closely with CMD colleagues in Europe and globally on cross-border strategic projects to leverage growth potential in client sectors and practice service lines, including in particular participating in the European tech and fintech initiatives. Overseeing league table and legal directory submissions to raise our external profile, in close collaboration with our global submissions team. Client relationship management responsibility for one or more major global clients.The Team
CMD Amsterdam forms part of Clifford Chance's global and regional, leading, and growing CMD team.
The Amsterdam team is an international team of CMD professionals with diverse backgrounds who put our clients at the core of everything we do. The team consists of 3 CMD managers, a CMD coordinator and 2 Events managers. This team reports to the Head of CMD. The team works closely together with our Brand, Communication and Marketing (BCM) specialists.
Qualifications
Who are you?
We are looking for a candidate who is:
An academic degree (bachelor or master) Minimum of five years of demonstrated business development or practice management experience in a professional/financial services or law firm. In depth experience of strategic business planning, key account planning and managing complex RFPs is key. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence a variety of stakeholders, well-developed presentation skills, confident, resilient, and focused. Capable to work across borders and cultures. Energised by working in a changing environment and adaptable to a changing ad increasingly international role. Fluency in English is required, Dutch language skills would be a plus.Our Offer:
