Context

Our client enables secure connections for a smarter world, advancing solutions that make lives easier, better, and safer. As the world leader in secure connectivity solutions for embedded applications, our client is driving innovation in the automotive, industrial & IoT, mobile, and communication infrastructure markets. Built on more than 60 years of combined experience and expertise, the company has approximately 29,000 employees in more than 30 countries.

The Electromagnetic-RF Design Enablement department in our organization develops and integrates flows and tools for simulating the analog and RF circuits designed by our client worldwide. The focus of this position is on Electromagnetic simulation aspects and application, and of the electromagnetic interference analysis for New Product Introduction (NPI). The methodology and flow aspects are based on industrial commercial tooling of well-known EDA vendors in the market.

In this job you will guide the different design applications, in close contact with the Product-Line designers and architects, and later compare it with measurements data. You will also work in close contact with the methodology and flow development team to bring the existing flows and methodologies to next level and provide consultancy and support for the design projects and products of the future. Our goal will be to assess the electromagnetic interferences between all levels of integrations (IP blocks in one die, die and package, package and PCB, antennas and finally the full system).

You will enable the prediction and mitigation of interferences between different subsystems and develop interference methodologies investigating the impact of IC floorplan, on-chip isolation strategies, package and PCB layouts, antennas and the EMC and interference performance of the complete system. You will also provide consultancy and support to design teams across our client to design electromagnetic interference free chips.

You will work together with electromagnetic experts in the department, you will be part of the EMC and Interference team and be requested to contribute to other EMC, modeling, and interference areas.

Your Responsibilities

Your key areas of responsibility will be derived from the following elements, based on requirements and customer specifications:

· Collect customer requirements and specifications for EMC & Interference and modelling in close cooperation with the requesting design teams

· Create electrical models using EM simulator of relevant parts of the system (IC, package, PCB, antennas)

· Provide guidelines and recommendations for the design team to reduce electromagnetic interference

· Cooperate with EDA vendors (improvement requests, tuning of the flows) in sync with the EM and Interference team

· Develop and improve flows and methodologies that will be used for electromagnetic simulation

· Document findings in a form of technical reports and provide recommendations to the design teams

· Close the loop with measurements, closely cooperating with verification/validation teams

· Contribute to the overall improvement of the existing simulation methodologies

Additionally, you can also contribute to the following activities:

· Develop / maintain a broad knowledge of technical developments in the domain

· Provide first-line and expert support on EM simulation tools to the design community across our client

· Develop EMC/Interference analysis test benches and run what-if analyses

· Contribute with the findings to improve RF designs of the future (Radar, 5G/6G designs, Radio, …).
