Job purpose:
Job responsibilities:

- Responsible for the development of a global business strategy for the rubber & tyres market, to include a fully integrated marketing plan with addressable market, clear direction, management, and positioning of key products and brands. The strategy should drive the alignment across functions globally
- Responsible for understanding how the market segment(s) will develop and how best to position Synthomer for long-term profitable growth. Includes recommendation on where to invest in people and how to invest research funds
- Jointly with the Segment Technical Leader, the Marketing Director is responsible for on-time, on-budget delivery of all research projects for the assigned segments. Ensure proper use of internal systems, organize cross regional core team meetings, encourage active participation from all core team members, particularly members from the lead countries
- Defines appropriate customer and market segmentation; aligns strategies to leverage and maximize value across defined segments
- Identify and execute upon strategic growth opportunities to achieve business objectives, including new/adjacent markets and products that are aligned with our value proposition and branding
- Identify, manage and respond to market's un-met needs (products, concepts, solutions) in coordination with Technology/R&D
- Develop and execute new product launches based on business plans, accountable for positioning and value pricing strategy for products of responsibility and for the specific industries
- Responsible for competitive intelligence and positioning. Track and monitor the market with respect to competition, market dynamics and technology developments (benchmarking) and define compelling, winning strategies and action plans. Communicate to broader AS team rubber and tyre industry trends, market indices, competitive/customer intelligence on a routine basis
- Develop and execute a Marketing Communication Strategy for the Segment, including development of customer literature and trade show representation.
- Develop appropriate lagging and leading Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to drive enhanced performance

Skills knowledge experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Management, Technical or related field with 7+ years industry experience
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the tire industry
- Demonstrated team leadership experience especially with cross functional teams
- Experience developing and implementing new strategies and initiatives
- Experience with project management
- Strong communications, team leadership, customer focus skills
- Must possess strong growth orientation
- Must demonstrate strong analysis skills, and have experience using data to form conclusions/recommendations for action
- Strong interpersonal, communications and influencing skills

Experience to set you apart:

- MBA; 5+ years of demonstrated marketing experience in the Specialty Chemicals Industry
- Experience with sustainability metrics, carbon footprint analysis and decarbonization strategies
- Strong product knowledge and end uses for product or industry focused assignments
- Strong Financial and Business Acumen skills
- Forward thinking with a process orientation
- Technical knowledge within the industry
- Excellent Microsoft Office proficiency
- Learning agility
