**Contract Duration**:

- For initial appointments, the Court offers a two-year appointment with the possibility of extension (six month probationary period).

Important:
Applicants will be responsible for any expenses incurred in relation to: visa, travel to and from, and relocation to and from the duty station, in the event of an employment offer.

A staff member in the General Service category who has been locally recruited shall not be eligible for the entitlements and/or benefits exclusively applicable to internationally recruited staff.

**Organisational Context**
The General Services Section (GSS) organisationally belongs to the Division of Management Services in the Registry. The GSS consists of four units; the Facilities Management Unit (FMU); the Transport and Logistics Unit (TLU), the Travel Unit (TU) and the Procurement Unit (PU).

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Within the limits of the delegated authority and under the direct supervision of the Head of Procurement Unit, the incumbent performs the following tasks:

- Process the purchase requisitions and purchase orders using the Court's ERP system (SAP) and submits the supporting documents for signature in accordance with the financial regulations and rules and procurement standard operating procedures;
- Prepares Requests for Quotation/Requests for Proposal, Invitations to Bid and communicate them to vendors;
- Completes commercial evaluations of proposals received from bidders, select vendors and negotiate price, terms and conditions most favourable to the court;
- Conducts tenders for the supply of goods and services in accordance with the financial regulations and rules and procurement standard operating procedures.

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Education:_
Diploma of secondary education is required.
- Experience:_
A minimum of six years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations in a commercial/industry environment is required. An advanced or a first-level university degree may be considered as a substitute for two years' working experience only to determine eligibility.
- Experience of procurement in an international, government organization or corporate organisation is an advantage.
- Three years’ experience in a procurement role using SAP software is desirable.
- Knowledge, skills and abilities:_
- Knowledge of procurement procedures, as well as one of the relevant marketplaces (IT/IM, Telecoms, Office and Building Maintenance, Logistics and Transportation, Audio and Video Services, Consultancy Services) is required.
- Knowledge of and experience in financial analysis to develop a commercial evaluation of bids and quotes is required.
- Very good knowledge of SAP, and of the SAP procurement module in particular, is desirable.[A1]
- Good communication and negotiation skill is required.
- Awareness of the UN Common system standards of procurement is desirable.
- Knowledge of languages:_
Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court, French or English is required. Working knowledge of the other is desirable. Knowledge of another official language of the Court (Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish) would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Dutch is desirable.
