About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for managing shifts, supporting supervisors, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Shift Management: Manage shifts partly independently and support supervisors in administration.
  • Team Leadership: Guide and lead the team to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Menu Planning: Support creative and innovative menu planning and calculations based on the F&B concept.
  • Productivity and Efficiency: Optimize the productivity and efficiency of subordinate areas, serving as a role model and passing on feedback and ideas to superiors.
  • Service Team Collaboration: Work closely with the service team during shifts to ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Monitor the kitchen in terms of cleanliness and maintenance (HAACP).
  • Purchasing and Ordering: Assist with purchasing and ordering food/goods in consultation with supervisors.
  • Team Development: Jointly responsible for the further development of our kitchen team and the training of apprentices.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the kitchen, preferably in an international hotel chain.
  • Education: Degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major.
  • Language: Fluent English, with another language being a plus.
  • Eligibility: Eligible to work in the Netherlands.
  • Management Skills: Ability to manage the kitchen team.
  • Flexibility: Flexible in working schedule.
