Job Description

The successful candidate will have a crucial role in improving and streamlining our financial processes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Monthly closing, controlling, and reporting procedures for a portfolio of legal entities in the Netherlands;
  • Booking of salaries and salary-related costs, VAT, GL journals, and other items;
  • Controlling and booking of salaries and salary-related costs, VAT, GL journals, and other items;
  • Controlling and reporting of VAT, tax, and similar, including contact with auditors and preparation of documentation;
  • Internal control procedures such as balance sheet reconciliations, analysis of P&L, Balance sheet, and Cash flow items to ensure accuracy and completeness in financial accounting;
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Auditing, with relevant experience compensating for formal education;
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Financial Controller or similar position in complex environments;
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, tax, and VAT for the Netherlands, with an advantage if you have knowledge from other European countries;
  • Experience in internal and external financial reporting, as well as good practices of internal controls over financial reporting;
  • Advanced user of IT systems (ERP, Excel, Financial reporting tools);
  • Fluency in English and Dutch, with fluency in one of the Scandinavian languages being a plus;
