Position Overview

The Quality Manager for Mechatronics Development plays a crucial role in defining and implementing the quality strategy within the department. This position is integral to the management team, ensuring that quality initiatives align with the overall objectives of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulates and aligns the quality strategy for the department as a key member of the management team.
  • Implements and monitors process enhancement projects that are part of the quality strategy at both departmental and sector levels.
  • Leads and collaborates with project teams to analyze process deficiencies, identify potential improvements, support implementation, and ensure consolidation within the department.
  • Contributes to the quality roadmap at the cluster and sector levels, providing valuable insights from the department.
  • Communicates quality status effectively within groups and at the departmental level, enhancing transparency.
  • Guides, reviews, and mentors project teams and engineers regarding the quality of proposed technical solutions and deliverables.
  • Empowers staff to fulfill their responsibilities in quality control by maintaining and implementing departmental processes, while providing regular reports on adherence to these processes.
  • Facilitates feedback loops and captures lessons learned across various departmental groups and competencies.
  • Oversees departmental technical competencies and conducts regular meetings with competence leaders.

Educational Requirements

A Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field, accompanied by relevant experience in quality management.

Experience Requirements

  • Over 8 years of experience in technically-oriented international organizations, preferably in a development setting.
  • Proven experience in a quality management role.
  • Familiarity with quality methodologies and tools such as Six Sigma, value stream mapping, 5 Whys analysis, Kaizen, brainstorming techniques, problem-solving methods, FMEA, 8D, and Ishikawa diagrams.
  • Knowledge of international quality standards (ISO 9001/14001/TS 16949), as well as experience with process assessments and audits.

  • Strong analytical skills paired with a pragmatic mindset.
  • Proficient in English.

Context of the Role

The mission of the Quality Cluster is to enhance technology development by ensuring and improving quality control, mitigating risks, driving improvements, and providing insights into development and engineering processes to achieve predictable outcomes. With the increasing demand for rapid delivery of advanced technology, maintaining high quality and reliability is becoming increasingly challenging. Therefore, our processes must evolve to become more effective and efficient. We achieve this by monitoring success, proactively ensuring product quality, securing process adherence, and implementing lessons learned while continuously improving our operational methodologies.
