Job Summary:The Instructor (Technical) will be responsible for delivering training to ship-board technical staff, developing courses and procedures, and promoting a corporate safety culture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the maritime industry, with experience in a leadership role and a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver training to ship-board technical staff
- Develop courses and procedures to be implemented on board ships
- Act as a representative of the corporate safety culture and promote this attitude with candidates
- Liaise with the Operations Support team and other instructors to ensure everything is prepared prior to start of courses
- Follow up with underperforming and outstanding participant process
- Manage equipment including simulators and any deficiencies
- Experience should typically be or have been in the role of STCW (III/2 Chief engineer unlimited or III/6) licensed role for at least 5 years
- Experience as a Senior Engineer / Superintendent or Subject Matter Experts (SME) in the Maritime Field for at least 5 years
- Experience in a Leadership role in the Maritime Field for at least 5 years
- Analytical and structured thinker
- Cruise Ship experience is highly preferred
- Experience in teaching / instructing would be an asset
- Possess deep understanding of technical aspects, industry standards and best practices
- Knowledge of computers & networks
- Proficient in MS Office
- Apply fluent written and verbal English language
- Able to effectively convey information across
- Demonstrate a growing mindset and able to influence others
- Able to navigate complex social dynamics Strong interpersonal & communication skills
- Works well in a multi-cultural team
- Ability to work unassisted
