About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Serre Kitchen Apprentice to join our team. As a Serre Kitchen Apprentice, you will be responsible for preparing a wide variety of dishes of the highest level, carrying out mise and place activities, keeping the kitchen clean, and developing new items for the menu.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare dishes according to standards, recipe, and planning;
  • Contribute to the development of products and items for the menu;
  • Ensure and guard the quality of the end product;
  • Ensure good quality and freshness of ingredients;
  • Ensure good quality, taste, texture, and color of food items and make adjustments when necessary;
  • Follow hygiene instructions.

What We Offer

  • Contract: Apprentice contract, 12 months;
  • Salary: Apprentice Salary, click for the salary overview;
  • Bonus: 1 Week additional salary when the hotel reaches the budgeted GOP (Gross Operating Profit);
  • Holidays: 21 days for a 0.8 FTE;
  • 8% holiday pay (pro rata);
  • Compensation for National Holidays;
  • Horeca CAO applies;
  • General Pension Scheme of Catering and Catering;
  • Attractive family and friends rates on overnight stays at Hotel Okura Amsterdam;
  • Once a year staff discount in one of the restaurants (50%);
  • Staff discount in our restaurants (20%);
  • Contribution to travel expenses from 10 km (one way);
  • After obtaining the probationary period, you will receive an overnight stay with breakfast as a gift (2 people), so that you can experience the hotel as a guest.

Requirements

  • You are an enrolled ROC student in the Netherlands;
  • You are eager to learn and open to receiving feedback;
  • You have good communication skills;
  • You are able to express yourself in English (written and orally);
  • You are prepared to work in a precise, organised, and independent way.
