About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead a team of engineers and technical specialists in the Operations department at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineering System Integration, you will be responsible for coaching and developing your team to ensure personal and professional growth. You will work closely with the Operations Production Supervisor(s) to fulfill technical needs and assist with escalated issues on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers and technical specialists to achieve technical excellence and efficiency in manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve team effectiveness, productivity, and quality.
  • Align team goals with organizational objectives and drive execution of factory and field continuous improvement activities.
  • Coordinate and facilitate higher-level factory and supply chain critical issues, interacting with functional groups to achieve resolution.
  • Provide input on capital investments, competence matrix, and succession planning.
  • Guide team members in professional development through goal setting, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Remove barriers to success and enable a work environment where colleagues can excel.

Requirements

  • University degree in a technical area or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in a high-tech industry environment in service, development, or manufacturing.
  • 5 years of management experience in a manufacturing, technical support, or service management role in a high-tech industry environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate with multiple levels of management.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop people via mentoring and coaching.
  • Experience with leading and developing technical teams.
  • Working knowledge of cross-site and cross-functional projects management, data analysis, and resource planning.
