Job Title: Scientist (f/m/d) Computational Cancer Genomics

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Scientist (f/m/d) Computational Cancer Genomics to join our Oncology Antigen Discovery and Computational Research team in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the performance of our antigen discovery pipeline, identifying and prioritizing tumor antigens for oncology programs. This will involve close collaboration with other members of the Antigen Discovery and Validation team on internal and external projects, as well as active support and participation in cross-functional projects with other CureVac departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement bioinformatics software and data analysis pipelines/workflows with experience in Linux computing environments
  • Develop and maintain software using scripting languages, preferably Python
  • Collaborate with other team members to integrate newly acquired in-house and public data into the discovery pipeline
  • Participate in cross-functional projects with other CureVac departments
Requirements:
  • PhD in a computational field (computational immunology, systems biology, bioinformatics, genomics, or similar), focus on immune-oncology is a plus
  • Proven track record of building bioinformatics software and/or data analysis pipelines/workflows with experience in Linux computing environments
  • Well-versed in at least one scripting language, preferably Python
  • Keenly aware of software development best practices: package development, unit testing, version control (git), containerization (Docker)
  • Experience with machine learning and cloud computing is a plus
  • Pro-active attitude with can-do mentality
  • Ability to work independently as well as in (multidisciplinary) teams
  • Highly motivated, strategically minded, and solution-oriented with strong communication and presentation skills
  • Fluency in English
