Job Title: Senior Scientist Fermentation Technology

We are seeking an experienced Senior Scientist to join our team in Delft, the Netherlands. As a Senior Scientist, you will be responsible for designing and improving existing fermentation processes to optimize production of complex small molecules, enzymes, and proteins.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and improve fermentation processes to optimize production of complex molecules
  • Develop suitable cultivation conditions and lab setups to evaluate and validate host organisms
  • Analyze cellular metabolism to identify bottlenecks and improve performance
  • Stay up-to-date with scientific advancements and technical innovations in fermentation and bioprocess fields
  • Compile, curate, and analyze large datasets and present data to the scientific team
  • Comply with SHE procedures and contribute to improving laboratory safety

You Bring:
  • PhD in Biochemical Engineering, Fermentation Science, or Biotechnology
  • Experience with running bench-scale fermentations and affinity for microbiological work
  • Knowledge of bioprocess principles and ability to coach and mentor junior team members
  • Effective communication skills and ability to convey project plans and technical details
