Postdoctoral Researcher for Quantum Secure Communications Systems and Networks

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated postdoctoral researcher to contribute to the design, deployment, and operation of our quantum secure communications testbed. The successful candidate will join our dynamic team and play a key role in developing secure systems, performing security analysis, and testing relevant QKD and network components.
Key Responsibilities- Design and analyze quantum secure communication networks and their components
- Develop and implement relevant software components and network protocols
- Contribute to the security analysis of quantum key distribution systems and networks
- Collaborate with research and industrial partners to drive the deployment and adoption of QKD systems
- Supervise PhD students working on topics related to quantum secure communications
- Contribute to the educational offering of TU/e in this field
You will be embedded in the Quantum & Terahertz Systems (QTS) lab within the Electro-Optical Communications (ECO) group, a well-equipped laboratory focused on developing secure and robust optical and radio communications systems. Our team is well-funded by several European Commission projects and the Dutch Ministry of Economic and Climate Affairs.
Requirements- PhD in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Cryptology with an excellent academic record
- Experience in security of telecommunication networks, cybersecurity and secure networking protocols, cryptography and security analysis, classical and quantum cybersecurity systems, and preparation of security test setups
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Working knowledge of current cryptographic algorithms, public key infrastructure, and network protocols
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
