Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maritime Professional Doctorate Researcher to join our team at Hogeschool van Amsterdam. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting practice-oriented research that contributes to the sustainability, safety, and competitiveness of the maritime sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on novel repair methodologies and their application in the maritime sector
- Develop and implement new capabilities to enable sustainable restoration of parts of high value with an efficient repair process
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve research goals
- Present research findings and results to stakeholders
Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant field such as Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
- Up-to-date knowledge of maritime practice and experience in maintenance and repair
- Affinity with solid mechanics and materials engineering background
- Good command of Dutch and English language (at least level C1)
What We Offer
- A gross monthly salary between € 4,361,- to € 6,114,- (VSNU profile Researcher 3 scale 11)
- An end-of-year bonus of 8.3% and holiday allowance of 8% of your gross annual salary
- 10.7 holiday weeks per year with a 40-hour working week
- Entitlement to various types of leave, such as (un)paid parental leave, care leave, adoption and foster care leave and various other arrangements
