Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at TU Delft to work on a challenging project focused on data assimilation for urban heat forecasting. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative data assimilation methods for urban climate modeling, with a focus on improving the accuracy of weather forecasts in urban areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement advanced data assimilation methods for urban climate modeling
  • Collaborate with our team of researchers to integrate data assimilation techniques into our urban climate modeling framework
  • Conduct research on the application of data assimilation methods for urban heat forecasting
  • Present research findings at international conferences and publish in top-tier journals
Requirements
  • Master's degree in meteorology, oceanography, (geo)physics, applied mathematics/statistics, or a similar field
  • Strong background in data assimilation and numerical modeling
  • Excellent programming skills in Python or a similar language
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
