PhD Student in Microbial Metabolism

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD student to join our research team at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. The successful candidate will be working on optimizing and predicting fermentation outcomes in plant-based food production.
Job Description:The PhD student will be responsible for designing and carrying out experiments with state-of-the-art analysis in molecular microbiology, omics technologies, systems biology, and bioinformatics. The candidate will also be expected to analyze and interpret data, give scientific presentations, and write scientific publications leading to a dissertation.
Requirements:- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as molecular microbiology, biotechnology, biochemistry, or systems biology
- Experience in working in a microbiological or biochemical laboratory
- Strong interest in metabolism, high-throughput microbiological technologies, and pathway analysis
- Excellent planning, analytical, and writing skills
- Good team worker
- A challenging position in a socially engaged organization
- A salary of € 2,872.00 and maximum € 3,670.00 gross per month in the fourth year
- An employment contract of initially 1 year, extendable to 4 years
We also offer attractive fringe benefits and arrangements, including a full-time 38-hour working week, 8% holiday allowance, and 8.3% end-of-year bonus.
