Md Phd Candidate in Cell Therapy and Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation

13 uur geleden

Utrecht Oost, Nederland Prinses Máxima Centrum Voltijd

**Our team**

Our mission is to optimize outcomes for cell therapies. We specifically focus on the function of immune cells over time in children undergoing hematopoietic cell transplantation or receiving immune therapy, such as CAR T-cells, and associate these data with clinical outcome parameters. One of the attractive approaches is through fine-tuning the systemic exposure to immunodepleting drugs in the conditioning regimen.

**Research Project**

This position is part of a KIKA-funded, four year clinical trial project aimed at optimizing fludarabine exposure of children receiving CAR T-cells with the goal of improving CAR T-cell expansion resulting in a lower incidence of CD19 positive relapses. Managing a multicenter trial as well as learning to model systemic drug exposures in CAR T and HCT patients is part of this PhD project. The PhD is embedded in the Nierkens lab.

The preferred starting time would be February/March 2025.

**Profile**
- Master’s degree in Medicine (MD)
- Demonstrated interest in translational research and/or pharmacology
- Strong team player with an enthusiasm to collaborate with both national and international scientists and clinicians
- Excellent communication, organization and presentation abilities in Dutch and English

**Our job offer**

We offer a stimulating MD PhD position in an international, multidisciplinary research setting that bridges clinical pharmacology and immunology. Initially, you will be offered a one-year temporary position, which will be extended to a total of four years upon satisfactory performance. Your gross monthly salary will start in FWG 50-6 with a salary of €4.015;
- gross a month for a fulltime working week (36 hours). You also receive 8,33% holiday allowance and 8,33 % end-of-year bonus. The Princess Máxima Center operates according to the collective labor agreement ‘cao ziekenhuizen’.

**The Princess Máxima Center**
