Role Overview

The American School of The Hague is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Elementary School Classroom Dual Language Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students in a dual language setting.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and social growth.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants to ensure effective implementation of instructional plans and provide guidance on best practices.
  • Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in dual language instruction and educational technology.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to keep them informed about student progress and involve them in their child's educational journey.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Elementary Education or a related field with a specialization in bilingual education or a related area.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience teaching in a dual language setting, preferably in an international school.
  • Fluency in both Dutch and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
  • Experience with curriculum integration, research-based literacy instruction, and data-driven instruction.
  • Strong understanding of child development and learning theories, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a dual language setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, parents, and students.
