Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled professional to take on the role of Director, Procurement for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) at IFF, focusing on Raw Materials. The ideal candidate will oversee key supplier relationships to ensure they align with IFF's strategic objectives, while also guiding the team in formulating and executing a strategy to source a competitive and cost-efficient portfolio of raw materials across all manufacturing facilities in the region. This portfolio will encompass materials sourced locally, leveraging a unified supply base and similar market dynamics.

The selected individual will be responsible for managing raw material costs and performance, advising the business on decisions related to commodity-based materials, establishing sourcing strategies, and setting strategic objectives. Participation in category team meetings will be essential to align strategies with global, regional, and local business requirements. This role necessitates external interactions with suppliers and a comprehensive understanding of market and supply networks. The position plays a crucial role in contributing to key company, functional, and regional business strategies as well as cost initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the development of regional category strategies for assigned categories and sub-categories to ensure raw material availability, manage costs, and achieve savings.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers in the region.
- Regularly analyze and disseminate market intelligence to support informed business and pricing decisions.
- Implement a disciplined strategic sourcing methodology.
- Guide the team in market intelligence and analysis.
- Assist in fostering new and existing supplier partnerships to support growth strategies through innovation and technology.
- Identify risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
- Collaborate with team members to define optimization and continuous improvement initiatives in raw materials.
- Ensure suppliers meet quality and service KPIs through collaboration with various departments.
- Align with the Responsible Sourcing Team on supplier and ingredient risk assessments.
- Ensure suppliers are aware of IFF's sustainability goals and have actionable plans to meet these targets.
- Demonstrate experience in identifying, developing, and nurturing supplier relationships.
- Engage cross-functionally with departments such as R&D, Commercial, Creation, Production, and Quality, and possess experience in matrix organizations.
- Exhibit strong communication skills in English, both written and oral, for global interactions.
- Display leadership, project management, and analytical skills.

Required Qualifications:

- Expertise in procurement with in-depth knowledge of key supply markets (including commodities, processing chemicals, enzymes, and other ingredients).
- Experience in team management.
- Relevant supply chain experience related to raw materials, supplier management, and best practices.
- Strong understanding of business practices and financial implications.
- Preferred certifications include CPSM or SPSM or related qualifications in supply chain or procurement excellence.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle).
- A graduate degree; MBA or degrees related to supply chain and material science are preferred.
