The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager Engineering Shipbuilding to join our team. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the engineering process and output within your discipline, ensuring a smooth building process. You will manage an engineering team and engineering partners, maintain contact with the client or their representatives, and ensure that the building yard has all the required information and necessary approvals are attained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage an engineering team with engineers/lead engineers for the shipbuilding disciplines and support staff in four phases: design check, basic engineering, detailed engineering, and production support;
  • Provide technical support on projects when needed or asked for;
  • Manage Budget, Planning, Quality, and Risks with regard to the engineering of vessels;
  • Manage the integration of purchased systems, equipment, and the interfacing with other disciplines, including requests for quotations and the vendor data process;
  • Implement (standard) work processes in your project, organize review moments, and prepare status reports, organizing document control and configuration control;
  • Ensure a good working environment and team spirit;
  • Manage the client relationship and ensure that necessary approvals are attained;
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture;
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in managing engineering projects in the maritime sector;
  • Experience with maritime engineering;
  • Familiarity with the Rules and Regulations and being able to interpret and translate them for our projects;
  • Experience with software packages such as AutoCAD;
  • English is a must, Dutch is a plus;
