Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated doctoral researcher to join our team at Eindhoven University of Technology (the Netherlands). This position is part of the ERC project "EQUATE", which aims to engineer quantum materials for terahertz applications.

Research Focus

The successful candidate will work on studying the ultrafast thermodynamic properties of layered quantum materials and exploiting these properties towards functional terahertz devices with unprecedented performance.

Job Requirements
  • MSc in (applied) physics or a similar degree
  • Experience in research on 2D materials and/or experience with (ultrafast) optical techniques and/or terahertz spectroscopy and/or nanofabrication
  • Excellent (written and verbal) proficiency in English, good communication skills
  • Independent and responsible
  • Fluent in spoken and written English (C1 level)
Conditions of Employment

  • Full-time employment for four years, with an intermediate evaluation (go/no-go) after nine months. You will spend 10% of your employment on teaching tasks.
