Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Nederland ARCNL Voltijd
Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at ARCNL to work on a fully funded PhD project titled "Imaging Spectroscopy for Broadband EUV Source Size Characterization". This project is part of a Holland High Tech (TKI HTSM) grant and is a collaboration between ARCNL and the University of Twente (UT).

Project Overview

The aim of this project is to develop a compact imaging spectroscopy tool based on a combination of nanofabricated grating and dispersion-matched zone plate. This tool will be used to unravel the radiative power partitioning over the various relevant wavelength bands and their spatial origins in laser-produced tin plasmas.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new techniques and employing them to understand and optimize promising alternative laser-produced plasma sources of EUV light. This will involve working with a team of PhD students and postdocs, and collaborating with industry partners.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in physics or applied physics, and programming skills in Python. Good verbal and written communication skills in English are also required.

Working Conditions

The position is intended as a full-time appointment for the duration of four years, with a starting salary of gross € 2.781 per month. The successful candidate will be based at ARCNL in Amsterdam, with frequent travel to the University of Twente in Enschede. The project is expected to start early in the Fall of 2024.

What We Offer

ARCNL offers a dynamic and interdisciplinary research environment, with access to state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a large team of researchers and industry partners, and to contribute to the development of new techniques and tools for EUV source characterization.

How to Apply

Interested candidates should submit their application, including a resume and motivation letter, via the online application system. Online screening may be part of the selection process.
