Position Overview

The role of the Global Business Development Director for Retail is pivotal in steering the business development initiatives within the PPDS Global Retail sector. This position is responsible for shaping and managing the product and solution offerings tailored for the retail market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive business development efforts for the PPDS Global Retail market segment.
  • Define and oversee the product and solution portfolio, ensuring alignment with market needs.
  • Manage external partnerships that enhance the Retail vertical.
  • Engage directly in pricing strategies and margin discussions pertinent to the Retail sector.

Accountabilities

  • Oversee all business activities related to the product and solution portfolio for Retail across various regions.
  • Conduct portfolio management, product lifecycle management, and pricing strategy within the Retail domain.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities in Retail, transforming them into actionable business ideas and requirements.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the Retail professional display industry, including software and hardware partners, system integrators, and distributors.
  • Develop and sustain connections with industry analysts and media influencers relevant to the Retail sector.
  • Maintain a multi-year market strategy for the Retail vertical across PPDS regions.
  • Analyze market data to inform timely and effective business decisions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of international business experience, with at least 2 years in professional display sales or business development, preferably in a retail consultancy context.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Professional Display landscape across multiple regions.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Retail vertical, including technology trends and pricing strategies.
  • Proven ability to drive business initiatives at both regional and senior country levels.
  • Strong negotiation skills encompassing commercial and legal aspects.
  • Experience in managing successful market introductions and driving business growth.
  • Effective project management skills to foster innovation and new business opportunities.
  • Strategic and analytical capabilities to assess data and recommend actions.
