The Role
As a Project Manager Engineering Shipbuilding, you will be responsible for the engineering process and output within your discipline. Your goal will be to ensure a smooth building process, managing an engineering team and engineering partners, maintaining contact with the client or their representatives, integrating purchased systems and equipment, and ensuring that the building yard has all the required information and necessary approvals are attained.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage an engineering team with engineers/lead engineers for the shipbuilding disciplines and support staff in four phases: design check, basic engineering, detailed engineering, and production support.
- Provide technical support on projects when needed or asked for.
- Manage Budget, Planning, Quality, and Risks with regard to the engineering of vessels.
- Contact with the client or their representatives and manage outsourcing of engineering work, ensuring necessary approvals are attained.
- Manage the integration of purchased systems, equipment, and the interfacing with other disciplines, including requests for quotations and the vendor data process.
- Implement (standard) work processes in your project, organize review moments, and prepare status reports, organizing document control and configuration control.
- Ensure a good working environment and team spirit.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience in managing engineering projects in the maritime sector.
- Experience with maritime engineering.
- Familiarity with the Rules and Regulations and the ability to interpret and translate them for our projects.
- Experience with software packages such as AutoCAD.
- English is a must, Dutch is a plus.
