Based in our dynamic and diverse office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, the role manages the (hybrid) events, sponsorship sales for the Informa Markets Food Ingredients and Vitafoods portfolios, 2 of the largest & best performing portfolio’s within the business.

The Business Development executive reports into the Head of Business Development, driving weekly / monthly sales, hit targets and reporting, focusing on bringing in new (and lost) clients, maximizing their return on investment and our revenue potential.
- Meet or exceed revenue target for assigned accounts through sales (digital, booth, sponsorship, and fully integrated packages)
- Sell to existing/ lapsed/ lost customer accounts with engaging conversations and compelling proposals while guiding them through buying process
- Prospect, generate, and seek new business opportunities inside and outside of existing client base through cold calling, follow-up calling, and attendance at industry-related events
- Be able to overcome objections and build value in the product
- Maintain accurate pipeline, sales activity and customer information within Salesforce of new and existing business (CRM system)
- Inform line manager of the latest customer pipeline and booked information through accurate use of Salesforce reporting, in relation to the monthly and annual goals
- Work with Country agents with related weekly report management and making sure Agents are performing Vs target
- Attend (international) competitive trade shows, generating interest with new prospective clients
- Ability to lead research and generate own client base (internet search, etc.)
- Support Clients with non sales related activities making sure those are addressed to relevant team
- Maintain accurate and timely detailed sales reporting
- Play an active part in identifying sales opportunities (become familiar with existing and new competitive events, also in order to find ‘new’ lead companies).
- Telesales 70% of time
- Face to Face client meetings 20% of time
- Competitor Trade Show visits 10% of time

**Qualifications**
- 3+ years of work experience in business-to-business sales with proven track record of prospecting and growing revenue from existing accounts ( New business sales experience)
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work under pressure and short deadlines
- Good communicator and team player
- Multi-tasker
- A self-starter with a high level of enthusiasm and accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent English, both written and spoken (additional languages like German, Italian, Turkish, French very welcome)
- Flexible, creative, proactive
- Ability to deliver quality output on time
- Ability to identify and pursue cross and up selling opportunities
- Ability to ask probing questions in order to proactively handle and respond to customer objections
- Experience managing multiple customers and maintaining high energy sales
- Passionate towards sales, dedicate to achieve personal sales target
- Experience in using Salesforce CRM system desires
- Excellent in interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
