Hotel Okura Amsterdam, a renowned international 5-star hotel, seeks an enthusiastic and experienced individual to enhance its team. As an Assistant Sommelier, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional service and exceeding guest expectations in both food and wine.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively sell wine and develop a deep understanding of wine varieties and pairings.
- Operate efficiently in the restaurant, taking orders and providing exceptional service to guests.
- Develop and maintain excellent guest relationships, ensuring prompt and courteous handling of requests and comments.
- Contribute to updating the restaurant's wine list and maintaining its accuracy.
- Work collaboratively with the service team to provide seamless and personalized experiences for guests.
What We Offer:
- A 1-year contract with the possibility of extension.
- A competitive salary as per the Group 5 scale.
- A bonus of 1 week's salary upon meeting the budgeted GOP level and achieving a minimum total score in the yearend evaluation.

- Study budget of €1,000.
- After completing the probationary period, an overnight stay with breakfast as a gift (2 people) to experience the hotel as a guest.
Requirements:
- Fluency in Dutch and/or English (oral and written).
- Similar work experience in luxury hotels and/or restaurants.
- Excellent wine knowledge with certification.
Working Conditions:
- 5 days per week, 7.6 hours a day.
- Availability to work on public holidays.
