Senior Technical Specialist, Water-Based Fire Protection Systems

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Sales Support Specialist to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our sales organization, you will be responsible for providing technical support to customers, training and design applications of specific water-based fire protection systems. You will work closely with customers and internal teams to deliver technical trainings and provide design services and engineering of typical system solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and specification support to customers
  • Support the full product range of water-based fire protection systems (sprinkler and watermist)
  • Build and deliver trainings for customers and internal employees
  • Provide design services and engineering of typical system solutions
  • Provide advice and support projects by applying Tyco solutions according to international codes and standards
  • Write technical letters/statements on customer requests for specific issues and solutions
  • On request, provide field support for solving technical issues

Requirements:

  • Customer-focused
  • Problem-solver, self-starter, and data and analytics driven by nature
  • Ability to quickly grasp and distinctly explain relevant technological and business concepts that impact our business
  • General knowledge of fire protection engineering principles (both sprinkler and watermist) and awareness of current industry trends
  • Understanding and application of applicable standards such as NFPA 13/20/750 and EN 12845/14972
  • Superior written and spoken English and German communication skills and excellent listening skills
  • Strong, positive interpersonal skills and presentation skills
  • Detail-oriented, particularly with respect to managing customer satisfaction
  • Well-versed in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Proficient in the use of SprinkCAD and/or AutoCAD
  • Salesforce.com and SAP experience is desirable

Additional Requirements:

  • Willing to travel internationally
  • Willing to give training and customer-facing presentations

Technical Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in general engineering or similar background through education or experience
  • Good verbal and written command of English and German language
  • Experience in CAD software
  • Worked with designing and engineering in sprinkler and watermist systems
  • Creation and understanding of piping layouts
  • Facilitate hydraulic calculations
