About Us
The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) is a global leader in the elimination of chemical weapons. Our mission is to implement the provisions of the Chemical Weapons Convention to achieve a world free of chemical weapons.
We are seeking a highly skilled Chemical Weapons Analyst to join our team in the OPCW Investigation and Identification Team (IIT). The IIT is responsible for identifying the perpetrators of the use of chemical weapons in the Syrian Arab Republic.
Main Responsibilities
- Review, process, and analyze information collected by the IIT regarding incidents involving the use or likely use of chemical weapons.
- Collate, process, and analyze multi-source information through the use of advanced programming and software tools.
- Provide inputs to investigation strategies and policies, guidelines, practices, and procedures for the conduct of analytical work.
- Prepare accurate analytical products in support of investigations.
Qualifications and Experience
- University degree in international law, criminal investigations, military science, crime analysis, social/political science, or other related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in investigative analysis work in the context of international or national criminal or human rights investigations or intelligence.
Languages
Fluency in English is essential, and a good working knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
