About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Elementary School / Middle School Counselor to join our team at the American School of The Hague. As a key member of our student support team, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses the needs of Elementary School and Middle School students.
  • Collaborate with the student support team, other division counselors, and administration to ensure a safe, healthy school environment and provide academic guidance to students.
  • Lead the student information meeting, support, and referral process to ensure students' needs are understood and met.
  • Work directly and collaboratively with parents and families to support student success.
  • Conduct parent workshop sessions on pertinent issues relating to Elementary School and Middle School students and/or child protection and welfare.
  • Create the master class schedule for Elementary School and Middle School in conjunction with division administration.
  • Take a leadership role in various meetings and serve as a member of the Elementary School and Middle School administrative team.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in School Counseling.
  • At least five years of Elementary School / Middle School experience in an American, Canadian, or international school.
  • Familiarity with current international school counseling practices and the ISCA model.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with all stakeholders.
  • Collaborative and adaptive nature in working in a team setting.
  • Experience with and interest in scheduling and student information systems.
  • Experience supporting students in strengths-based proactive development.
