Are you passionate about the art and science of fragrance? At International Flavors & Fragrances, we are dedicated to enhancing the lives and well-being of individuals globally through innovative scent solutions. We are currently in search of a driven and creative individual to join our Scent division, focusing on the fabric care sector. This role offers a collaborative atmosphere where you can contribute to both emerging and established consumer brands.

Role Responsibilities

As a Fragrance Innovation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing product development strategies that yield distinctive and consumer-relevant fragrance solutions for the worldwide fabric care market.

Your primary source of insight will be consumer intelligence, which will guide you in addressing both external and internal product and process development opportunities. You will work alongside cross-functional teams to enhance existing capabilities and explore new consumer and customer solutions, while also developing innovative fragrance themes and technologies.

Key Duties

Innovation & Leadership

  • Lead global innovation initiatives to devise and implement cutting-edge fragrance development strategies.
  • Align market, customer, and consumer insights to identify and propose competitive product solutions that drive business success.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams, including perfumers and technical experts, to uncover challenges and opportunities in fragrance development.
  • Manage complex programs that involve high technical content related to fragrance technologies and formulations.
  • Foster ideation within teams to discover new consumer solutions and development methodologies.
  • Develop a consumer insights strategy to gain a competitive edge and create relevant solutions and value propositions.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities to inform technical and R&D briefings.

Project Management

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure fragrance strategies align with overarching business goals.
  • Drive effective processes and execution to achieve timely market delivery.
  • Monitor project outcomes and adapt strategies as necessary.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the market landscape to define competitive solutions.
  • Ensure global visibility of projects both internally and externally.

Knowledge Sharing

  • Actively disseminate information and insights to empower teams.
  • Document learnings and insights, sharing market trends and fragrance solutions with relevant stakeholders.

Team Collaboration

  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Build strong relationships with global teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Take charge of your own professional growth by collaborating with your manager to set SMART objectives and a personal development plan.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Perfumery, Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a fragrance house or consumer goods company, preferably in an international context.
  • Experience in the Fabric Care category is advantageous.
  • Strong olfactory skills; olfactory assessment will be part of the selection process.
